short and sweet

For no reason at all I had a really good day today. I started my day by going to a center which has no proper teacher at the moment (although that will change relatively soon). I taught a small group of kids about mammals, dinosaurs, and bats (don’t try to understand the logic connecting the three). We had a lovely time. I also used music in the classroom for the first time here. We listened to Nick Drake. The boys were very intrigued. I love music in the classroom.
I went back to the office and got to bring our Director to one of my centers, came back to the office, spent a few minutes on office work, including telling a new teacher her induction schedule, sent an email or two, and then sat down for a fun and reflective staff meeting. We have staff meetings frequently, they’re all interesting. I was even supposed to buy my bike today but because our meeting ran late, I didn’t go. Tomorrow I have to wake up at 5am because we’re taking a bus ride to Mumbai for a staff meeting between both offices. I’ll forgo the gym tonight in exchange for a good night’s sleep. When I go to the gym, I don’t get home until after 11pm. That wouldn’t be bad except for the fact that I usually wake up before 7. I’m happy to say that I’ll spend the evening drinking tea, reading the news, and reading my Amartya Sen book.
I’m also keeping up with the news a little more. I’m very excited about Egypt and wish I could be in a worldlier city so that I could bounce ideas and thoughts off with friends who are also interested in politics. That’s it for my brief post.
